The next Retrieval Artist novel, Duplicate Effort, will hit the stands in the first week of February. Saturday, I got a copy of the cover for the book–and here it is. The green is amazingly pretty.

First Readers

Published by Kris under On Writing

My husband, Dean Wesley Smith, has a great blog on the importance of first readers. You can check it out here.

He wrote it on the eve of our Master Class, which begins tonight. We’ll be teaching professional writers at a crossroads in their careers for the next two weeks. It’s a lot of work for both of us, so I’m not sure how much I’ll post. But I’ll try, especially workshop oriented stuff.

My New Column

Published by Kris under Current News

Jim Baen’s Universe has hired me to write a regular column, called “Notes from the Buffer Zone.” They’ve just printed the first column in the October issue. You can find the entire column here.

Also, the cover story by Mike Resnick is one of his very best. So go dip into the issue and enjoy.

Another new story out. This one is in Fast Forward 2, Lou Anders’ original anthology series. Somewhere in previous posts I have a copy of the cover without the wording, if you would like to compare.

I have already read the introduction. Fascinating stuff. You can find it here.

You can read a sample story at the Pyr website, located here.
