IRoSF column follow-up

I just got a note from my editor at the Internet Review of Science Fiction.  The important column that I mentioned in a post below essentially told folks that they can do something in this tough economy:  they can subscribe or donate to their favorite publications.  The column has been up for a week.  My editor tells me that the column…”.has garnered IROSF more donations in one month than we’ve ever receive before in total.  Not to mention, the most lively discussion.” I had been discouraged since the discussion was initially quite negative.  But it’s become very interesting, with many people weighing in.  You can check it all out at http://www.irosf.com/q/zine/article/10519 Thanks to everyone who responded, subscribed, and donated.  You’re doing good work. The Writing Process

A while back, my husband, Dean Wesley Smith, posted a series of articles on creativity and writing fast on his blog, http://deanwesleysmith.com.  He also posted something on those topics on the NINC blog as well.  http://www.ninc.com/blog/index.php/archives/meet-dean-wesley-smith Apparently Nancy Parra read these posts and had a project that required fast work.  So she followed Dean’s methods.  Her blog is funny and accurate.  Check it out here:  http://nancyjparra.blogspot.com/2009/03/writing-process.html … Read entire article »

The Collected Stories of Roger Zelazny

At Worldcon last year, I was asked to contribute an introduction to one volume of the multivolume collected short stories of Roger Zelazny. I happily agreed to do so. The first two books in the series are out now. My introduction is in book two. If you love Roger’s work, pick up these books. They’re marvelous–and beautiful. They have a wrap-around Michael Whelan cover. When put together, all the volumes will display the entire work of art. You can see the artwork at http://www.nesfa.org/press/Books/images/ZelaznyArt-600.jpg. You can order the books at http://www.nesfa.org/press/NewReleases.html. … Read entire article »

The Spires of Denon

Asimovs has just published my novella, “The Spires of Denon.” It’s a stand-alone in the “Diving” universe–and it’s the cover of the 400th issue. The art is from the story itself, and is just stunning. If you don’t subscribe, you can order copies here. … Read entire article »
