Thanks, Kris! It’s a WONDERFUL series that I’m enjoying immensely. I prefer to space out my reading of my favorite writers (ever since ODing on Robert Parker years ago) so I’ll be a while before I get to this story, but I’m really looking forward to it.

For those of us who haven’t gotten all the way through the series yet, should we wait to read the short story until we’ve caught up with the last novel to avoid any spoilers? I read the beginning of the Smokey story in _Chicago Blues_ after reading only the first novel and found myself saying, “Forget what you just read! Forget what you just read!” (I’m hoping a reader can answer this question and spare Kris’s time.)
