Free Fiction Monday: Hitchhiking Across An Ancient Sea

Denny and Nikki share a similar history. Or so it seems to Denny when Nikki shows up, bruised and withdrawn, in the quiet Oregon Coast town he now calls home. But history creates a powerful pull on the psyche. Sometimes in good ways. Sometimes in bad. And sometimes, the end of a journey actually marks a new beginning.

“Hitchhiking Across An Ancient Sea” by award-winning writer Kristine Kathryn Rusch is available for $2.99 on Amazon, Barnes & NobleSmashwords, and in other e-bookstores.

The free story will only be available for one week.  If you missed this one, click on the links above.  There’s another free story lurking somewhere around this site. Track it down, read, and enjoy.

I had to read this twice before the “real” of the story hit me. Many of us
run away from life pretending that what we have found is real when it is actually a way to cover what we don’t want to admit, to accept so that we end up living on the edges. If we’re lucky or brave we step through the barrier we have created.

Thanks, Sandy. I’ll take your word for it. I write them. I don’t always understand them. 😉
