A New Uncollected Novella

The Streets Where We Live UA cover epubYeah, it’s been one of those weeks. 🙂 I go for a month and post very little, and then I bombard you with information. But it can’t be helped. May is chockful of news.

In addition to the bundle, the release of The Write Attitude, and the release of Starbase Human, I have also just published a new novella. As many of you know, I participate in the Uncollected Anthology of Urban Fantasy. This quarter’s anthology is called Portals And Passageways. In addition to my story, the anthology features stories from Leah Cutter, Annie Reed, Phaedra Weldon, Leslie Claire Walker, and Dayle A. Dermatis (writing in one of my favorite series of hers). The guest author this month, JC Andrijeski, should be familiar to those of you who read Fiction River. She’s had stories in a number of volumes, and her story this time is from her popular Allie’s War series.

My novella is the second tale about three witches who are descended from the witches who inspired Shakespeare to write MacBeth. These women are magical dramaturges (they manage the magic in theater) and eventually, they’ll have their own novel. Real Soon Now. They first appeared in Fiction River: Hex In The City with “The Scottish Play.” This time, they’re facing their biggest threat yet, in the theaters of Chicago (not London, like the first story). I’m taking some theater classes this summer in prep for writing more about these three, so The Streets Where We Live isn’t the last story you’ll see about them.

I’m real excited about this story (and several of the other stories in the anthology). I hope you pick it up.

Yeah, my favorite trio of witches are back! It is nice when someone gives you something you didn’t even know you wanted until it was there. I am so excited.

btw, sorry to be bombarding you with a ton of comments. I am catching up on your news and writing so it’s coming at you all at once. I get overly enthusiastic.

Just FYI and something you might want to pass around the group, I went and bought your current short and there was a link to others of the Uncollected stories as part of your story’s page. So i clicked that link and bought the ones there that I didn’t have.

All well and good so far as it went, but it wasn’t all of the Anthology stories even though it listed stories that were in different Anthologies. Uncollected is fine, but this is a disjointed effort that doesn’t help build on the idea of having an Anthology, collected or not. There is no way to use finding one as a way to find all the rest, even coming from the Anthology page link. A little more shared formatting for the links and listings would probably help boost everybody.

Plus, would it defeat the purpose to offer them as a ‘pay once get all’ link? At least that if they won’t cross list better.

    Just a thought.

    • All good points, dafaolta. The links were supposed to go to the anthology stories, but I will see what went awry either with our production or the links provided. I love the pay once get all option. Will suggest to the group.
