Free Fiction Monday: The Japanese Sword

Wedding photos capture a lot of things they shouldn’t. Including Susan’s husband Russell necking with one of his colleagues. Susan goes ahead with her plans for Russell’s birthday, plans that include a Japanese sword he’s always wanted. Only this sword possesses something extra—a talent for revenge.

“The Japanese Sword” by World Fantasy award-winning author Kristine Kathryn Rusch is free on this website for one week only. The story’s also available as an ebook on Amazon, KoboiBooks, Barnes & Noble, and from other online retailers.

Enjoyed the story. Given the shop disappeared, in fact was never there, I would not be so sure that sword will be found in the police property room either when someone looks for it. I imagine there might be another in need of such a sword sooner or later. The only point that leaves me wondering a bit is the appearance of the card a few weeks before the incident and from where. I guess I will simply have to accept it without further clarification, after all this is a short story.
