Two new stories of mine appeared in November, but kinda sorta got lost in the noise of the month. The first, “The City’s Edge,” appears in Bridging Infinity, edited by Jonathan Strahan. This is my second appearance in one of Jonathan’s Infinity anthologies. They’re hard sf and always a delightful challenge to write. This one had the added challenge of a quick turn-around. There are […]
I have lots of fun stuff to share. I hope you saw that the latest Diving novel is out (and the Recommended Reading List has returned). I also have a story in The Best American Mystery Stories 2016, edited by Elizabeth George. I love her work, so I’m particularly flattered that she chose a story of mine. If you haven’t read “Christmas Eve at the […]
I love October. I love the darkening days, the blowing leaves, the spectacular sunsets over the ocean. I even love the return of the rain. So, it’s no surprise that I have a few appropriate stories coming out this month.
I am having a wonderful, marvelous, totally nifty year. Or maybe I had that year in 2015. Hard to say, really. Just depends on how you look at things. Here’s what I mean. My novella, “Inhuman Garbage,” appeared in two best of the year volumes in July. Depending on what you prefer to read, you have the choice of reading the novella in Gardner Dozois’s […]
The new Diving project turned into a novel. It surprised me, because the novel does not feature Boss. The book takes place at a sector base. I started the entire book as a novella, which I do very often to explain something to myself. But the novella kept going and going and going, and now I have a surprise novel. The Falls will appear in […]
Okay, I’m not completely a slacker. But I’ve been slow in updating you on all that’s been going on. That’s partly because I’ve been writing a Diving Universe novel that kicked my butt all winter. I finished draft one yesterday. Yes, I said Diving Universe. I started out writing a novella to explain something to myself, and ended up with at least 100,000 words. (That’s […]
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Uncollected Anthology has a new issue. This one? Happily Ever Afters. Guest author Anthea Sharp joins me, Dayle Dermatis, and Leah Cutter to give you the most romantic fantasy stories possible. The idea behind the Uncollected Anthology is this: we share a theme, and then sell the stories individually. (For those of you who read my business blog, […]
Here’s the overdue news from December…
I’ve mentioned before that WMG Publishing has spent much of 2015 rebranding some of our titles. One of the big rebranding projects has been for my Kristine Grayson pen name. The last of the rebranding happened this month. The Santa Series novellas all have new covers. And we did an omnibus, if you want to buy all of them at once. The individual titles are […]
What a week. I have a lot of news to share, most of which will save you money….
