•You can now read an excerpt of WMG’s edition of A Dangerous Road here.
•WMG Publishing has purchased the next Smokey Dalton novel The Day After. It will appear in 2013. WMG also bought the entire Smokey backlist, so all of the books will be reissued throughout 2012, both in print and online.

Looking forward to the next Smokey Dalton. You probably have my name on file, but thought I’d check in and see if there’s a date set.
No date yet, but the book will be underway as of May. And all of the previous SD books are coming back into print this spring. So things are moving. I’m hoping that the new one will be out about this time next year. Thank you for your continued interest in the series!
This is wonderful news, I’ve been re-reading my Smokey Dalton books and really looking forward to the next one! Has any date been finalized for publication?
Nothing yet. I slowed down because of family stuff, but as soon as I have the information here, I’ll let you know.
In the meantime, all of the books are being reissued, with new covers, during the summer.
Thank you! And I will look out for the re-issued books…my copies are a bit worn out from re-reading, so it would be great to get another set.
I’ll be making an announcement here as they start to appear. The covers are spectacular. (A first, I think, for the series.)
I bought the first five Smokey Dalton e-books, and read the first. It was just as good the second time around, and it was great the first time.
When will Days of Rage be available. This is beginning to feel like my experience the first time with this series. That sixth book was the hardest to find then, too.
Days of Rage is out, Brian. You should be able to get it on all e-platforms, and in book form by the end of the summer. What device do you use? If you can’t get it on that device, then try Smashwords. It has the book for all devices.
Sorry this took so long.
I have a Kindle and Days of Rage is the only Smokey Dal;ton Novel that they don’t seem to have. I don’t know why.
Thanks for the tip. I never even thought of Smashwords, but now I’m registered and I have all of the Smokey Dalton books.
I know I’m wishing my life away, but I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I just finished A Dangerous Road and I’m happy to say that it stood up to a second reading. I liked it just as much this time around.
Thanks, Brian. Glad you found Smashwords to your liking. After your comment arrived, I checked, and Days of Rage is on Kindle. It’s at: http://www.amazon.com/Days-Rage-Smokey-Dalton-ebook/dp/B008BICP2Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1342552097&sr=8-2&keywords=Days+of+Rage+Nelscott
Maybe it just didn’t show up in your on-Kindle search engine, which happens sometimes.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the books again!
Okay, I’ve had gifted to me (originally) many of your Retrieval Artist books and have purchased the rest. Just reading the last of the purchases now.
Although I was told that one could read the books in any sequence and I’m sure one could, I really enjoyed reading them mainly in order.
Question about the SD series: Is there a sequence for reading them? I didn’t find anything about that on your site here, Kris.
Thanks!!
bc
Bill, you can read them out of order–they’re designed that way–but better to read in order. The first is Dangerous Road, then Smoke-Filled Rooms, Thin Walls, and so on. The order is in the books, and Real Soon Now, I’ll have it all on here, along with some promo stuff. (Of course I’ve been saying that all year.) Thanks!
