A Special Webinar and A Bundle

A Special Webinar and A Bundle

I’m heading into a season of announcements, and I’m going to start with a big one. I’ve decided to do a monthly webinar. I’m committing to a year’s worth (actually 13 webinars), and if it goes well, I might do more.

Here’s my thinking on this:

As I’ve gotten healthier, I realized how much I’ve missed talking to people about writing, reading, being an artist, and just general fannish things. My friends and I discuss these, of course, but when I used to go to conventions or signed books at bookstores, I would often get into unexpected discussions with people I wouldn’t normally see.

I would also talk on panels or do question-and-answer sessions. Invariably, I would get asked a question that put something into perspective for me or would give me a new insight or would make me see the world in a different way.

While I can do some of that in Las Vegas, I can’t do as much as I used to. So, Dean and I have been considering ways to use our already existing system to help me interact with folks. We finally settled on a monthly webinar called “Ask Kris Anything.”

Even though the art on this announcement says that this webinar is about writers, it’s really not. It’s for readers, fans, and writers. I mean that you can ask me anything—about my books, about writing, about business, and about my cats (if you’re so inclined). Anyone who signs up for a year in advance gets to ask questions ahead of time, to make sure that the burning question they have will actually get an answer.

For more information on this, here’s a bit pulled from the announcement on Dean’s website.

The monthly live webinar will always start at 11 am West Coast US Time.  The dates will be announced a few months ahead under the introduction video and each person signed up will be emailed the dates and a reminder as well each month slightly before the webinar.

And no, they will not be recorded. You make the live webinar or you miss out. The reason is that Kris wants to be free to answer honestly and sometimes bluntly. Recording does not allow that.

THIS IS LIMITED. Once it is full, these will be closed for more sign-ups. So don’t hesitate if interested.

You can buy in at any of three tiers. A full year, nine months, or six months. The subscription runs consecutively. But you can miss one if you give Dean notice and you can make up the missed webinar on the end of the subscription.

(If you buy a six month subscription expecting to buy another six months later, you might be disappointed, since this will fill, I have no doubt.)

If you have the year subscription and do not miss one of the webinars for an entire year, you will get the last (13th) live webinar free.

Once this starts and the first two webinars are done, the yearly option will drop away if this has not filled before then.

Only those signed for the yearly option will be allowed to send in a question or two each month ahead of time. The rest will be able to post their questions live on the webinar. (You will send Dean the questions ahead and he will pass them on.)

Any questions about this, write Dean, not Kris. Dean is the moderator and will be dealing with the Teachable aspects of this. His email is dean.wmgworkshops@gmail.com

If you want to sign up, go to

https://wmg-publishing-workshops-and-lectures.teachable.com

and hit “see all courses” and you will see the three options for this Ask Kris Webinar series.

Remember, one year subscriptions get to send in questions ahead of time each month.

And that this is limited. No need to ask Dean or me if there is still a spot open. Just check on Teachable and if you can still see the course, there is a spot open. If you can’t see it there, then ask Dean. (Here is what the cover of the year option looks like.)

I’m really looking forward to this. I love the idea of interacting with you all. And I hope you sign up.
The other announcement I’m piggybacking onto this one is that I’m in a new Storybundle. I’ll actually have books in a number of Storybundles this spring and summer, so I’m trying to space the announcements out a bit.
This bundle gives those of you who haven’t tried my fantasy series The Fey the opportunity to get the first two books for as little as one dollar each. In addition, you’ll get thirteen other books, all of them epic fantasy of one sort or another. (If you have read the series, you can give this bundle to a friend. Just follow the instructions on the website.)
Kevin J. Anderson curated this one, and he put a lot of new-to-me authors in the bundle. I’ve only read Alan Dean Foster’s work here, so I have a lot of books to add to my own personal TBR pile from this bundle. But all the books look fun and worthwhile. Here’s how this Storybundle works:

For StoryBundle, you decide what price you want to pay. For $5 (or more, if you’re feeling generous), you’ll get the basic bundle of five books in any ebook format—WORLDWIDE.

  • Thought Gazer by Raymond Bolton
  • MythWorld by James A. Owen
  • Rider’s Revenge Trilogy Book 1: Rider’s Revenge by Alessandra Clarke
  • The Fey Book 1: The Sacrifice by Kristine Kathryn Rusch
  • Set in Stone by Frank Morin

If you pay at least the bonus price of just $15, you get all five of the regular books, plus TEN more!

  • Shadow Blade by Chris Barili
  • The Taste of Different Dimensions by Alan Dean Foster
  • The Whisper Prince Book 1: Fairmist by Todd Fahnestock
  • The Fey Book 2: The Changeling by Kristine Kathryn Rusch
  • The First DragonRider by Kevin McLaughlin
  • Accidental Thief by C.J. Davis and Jamie Davis
  • Viridian Gate Online: Side Quests by James A. Hunter, D.J. Bodden, N.H. Paxton & More
  • Half-Bloods Rising by J.T. Williams
  • Nova Dragon – Book One of the Goblin Star by Gama Ray Martinez
  • The Dragon’s Call Book 1: Dragon Sword by Angelique Anderson and Craig A. Price, Jr.

This bundle is available only for a limited time via http://www.storybundle.com. It allows easy reading on computers, smartphones, and tablets as well as Kindle and other ereaders via file transfer, email, and other methods. You get multiple DRM-free formats (.epub and .mobi) for all books!

In addition to getting a bunch of fun books, you can also donate to a charity. This bundle’s charity is The Challenger Center For Space Science Education.

So I hope you take advantage of some of this fun stuff. Bundles, webinars, and more fun things on the way!

I love to see that the Fey books are included in the story bundle…it’s an addictive series! Did you give up on the idea of going back to it though?

    • I haven’t given up on it at all. I have a bit of work to do before I can go deep into the series–mostly review–and I’ve already started those steps. It’ll happen. I just don’t have a date yet.
