Free Fiction Monday: Safety Tests

Devlin trudges through his job on the space station waiting for retirement and hoping he won’t die first. A test pilot with Licensing and Regulation, he makes sure only the most qualified pilots make it to the test flight, let alone pass it. But sometimes, even the most jaded tester misses something. And the difference between life and death on a space station? Missing nothing. Nothing at all.

I enjoyed that. Thank you.
Wow, I’m loving your short stories, Kris. I found you by first following Dean, then I took your short story writing Lecture on Teachable. I had to read the teacher’s examples of short stories and they’re fabulous.
At 40, I’m still a neophyte writer because I hadn’t written since my teen years. Short stories are my favorite format because not only are they fun to read, but you can dabble in every genre and experiment with all sorts of techniques with very little investment of time.
A refreshing read. The ending was good. I’m glad that I have something to ponder after going to bed tonight.
