Cool story! It makes me want to go to a rink and reflect. At first, I was hearing Mozart’s A Little Night Music in my head, since it is easier to skate to that. However, a techno remix of Symphony No. 40 may work better. Mozart wrote it (minus the techno part of course) toward the end of this life, and I think its minor key offers something about the passage of time.
I’m going to see if I can get away with posting this. It LOOKS appropriate. (There are several choices, but at least this one was purported to be provided by the group that performed it, and I would hope, arranged it.)

Switched on Mozart.
Lovely story! Brought a needed smile to my eyes.
