For the second time in my career, I’m honored to have a full novel in Asimov’s SF Magazine. This novel, The Court Martial of the Renegat Renegades, won’t be published as a standalone until June of 2023. However, you can read it in Asimov’s in two parts. The first part has just appeared, and you can read an excerpt here.
I’m so excited about this book. I always wanted to know what happened to the survivors of the Renegat who returned to the Fleet. I had a hunch, but what happens in this book surprised even me. I think you’ll all enjoy it.
And…more reading! I’m lucky enough to have the first three books in the Diving Series chosen as part of a Humble Bundle. This is my first time in a Humble Bundle, and wow, is Diving in good company!
Alan Dean Foster, Kevin J. Anderson, Lindsay Buroker, Frank Herbert, and 30 other books, with even more writers. You’ll find several short story collections here as well, which include work from Brandon Sanderson and Mary Robinette Kowal. All of this for as little as $25 (a $308 value). Lots of reading for the end of summer.
Plus you can add a few extra dollars to give to First Book, which provides books and educational resources to children in need. I can’t think of a better charity to give to when you’re buying a few books for yourself.
Just finished reading it today and waiting anxiously for the conclusion in the next issue. I can see why this needs to be resolved before the novel to follow “The Chase” as it will certainly be related to the eventual confrontation between Fleet and Armada. Will the next one be the final one in the Diving series, or is there more to come?
I seem to recall that a trial was also to follow from the conclusion of “Masterminds” and look forward to seeing the fate of those who plotted for so long for devastation that was so narrowly avoided.

There’s more to come, Dave. A lot more…
Congratulations!!! 😀
I now have a subscription to IASFM. And will sign on for the Kickstarter as well!
