Hi
If you haven’t seen it yet, there is an interesting analysis of book sale on a substack at https://countercraft.substack.com/p/no-most-books-dont-sell-only-a-dozen – no news to you, I expect, but see the comment from a Bookscan analyst. An interesting aside by her: “Backlist books have gained about 4% in share from frontlist books since the pandemic began, but that is a whole other story.”
regards
Kerry
Hi, I don’t know where to put this question but I’ll just put it here.
Dear Kristine, how can I trust a new book publisher? I mean, how can I ensure that the royalty payment is equal to how it should be. I’m afraid that they may alter or lie about the sales.
New to you or a brand-new publisher who has just opened the shop?
Sorry to bother you but the search button did not work. Where can I go to find a reputable internationl agent? Secondly I need information on what constitutes a good contract between author and a Hollywood agent.
Thanks
Author of The Celestial Bar and In the Shadow of the Sphere
I answered you privately, Tom, but try again with the search button. I just tried it again and so have others. It works. Just type in the word “agent” and you will get a lot of your questions answered.
