The Diving novel that fans have been waiting for—the next Boss novel—hits print today. This book takes place just after the events of The Runabout and at the same time as Searching For The Fleet. It also isn’t the last word in Diving, not by a long ways. I wrote a book that comes after Thieves. That book, called The Chase, is being reviewed right now […]
I’m pleased to announce that I’ve partnered with Catalyst Game Labs to develop a Diving Into The Wreck Game. This game is a card & dice game that will allow you to adventure the way that Boss and her team does. Here’s the information on the game: DIVING INTO THE WRECK An Encounters Game from Catalyst Game Lab Boss Needs Your Help! Gear up, check […]
To get the books early, all you have to do is back our Diving Universe Kickstarter. It’s officially called The Return of Boss. Yes, those of you who regularly read Diving, Boss is back in Thieves with a brand new adventure. Plus there’s a side adventure called Squishy’s Teams, which is set at the same time as Boneyards. Squishy’s Teams will come out in late […]
Yes, as you can tell from the title of this, I’m stressed, busy, and a bit punch-drunk, without having any punch or alcohol. I’m running around like a chicken, trying to finish things before the Anthology Workshop starts on Friday. And then, I woke up this morning and realized (thanks to a kind DJ on the radio) that today is February 18. Which is… Release […]
This week’s Free Fiction Monday is something special. It is a way to sample my new Diving Universe novel, The Renegat, which was published last month. The novella “The Rescue of the Renegat,” which was first published in the January/February 2018 issue of Asimov’s, follows Captain Kim Dauber’s attempts to save the crew of a badly damaged ancient ship that suddenly appears out of foldspace. […]
…On the Diving Universe Kickstarter. I bring this up, not to nag you to join the Kickstarter, but to inform you of the incredible value hidden in the middle of it. If you back the Kickstarter at the $5 level, you will get an ebook of the brand-new Diving novel, The Renegat. You will also get—thanks to stretch goals—three ebook novellas, seven ebook short stories, […]
In case you’re not paying attention to the Kickstarter (and why would you, really?), I thought I would point out that we hit our initial goal within about 18 hours of the start. Which surprised the heck out of me. I figured it would take until the middle of the Kickstarter run to get there. But it only took a few hours. THANK YOU!!! What […]
As I crawled (typed, sobbed) my way to the end of the latest Diving Universe novel—all 260,000 words of it—I used the thought of a Kickstarter to get me through that experience. Why a Kickstarter? Because I wanted to share the false starts with long-term readers, and I figured giving those false starts away in a single book as a Kickstarter reward was the way to do that.
Starbase Kappa. The Room of Lost Souls. An abandoned space station with different names but one certainty: People die there. Still, a soldier can’t argue with orders, no matter how bad a place’s reputation. Enterran Empire Operations Commander Elissa Trekov’s most famous relative died in the Room, so she thinks she knows it better than the rest of her team. But when strangers turn up on the so-called abandoned station—strangers who seem to know a lot more about its function than they pretend—she realizes the Room’s legendary history only scratches the surface of the dangers lurking within.
“Strangers at the Room of Lost Souls,” by Hugo Award-winning author Kristine Kathryn Rusch, is free on this website for one week only.
This week’s Free Fiction Monday is a little different. It’s a way to sample my new Diving novel, Searching for the Fleet, before its publication day on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The novella “Dix,” which was first published in the March/April issue of Asimov’s, follows Yash Zarlengo, an engineer aboard the ship Ivoire, as she tries to cope with the fallout of the accident that caused the Ivoire to be propelled five thousand years in the future. When First Officer Dix does something that shocks Yash to her core, she must put her own life on the line to uncover a threat that could mean the end to everything she knows.
“Dix,” by Hugo Award-winning author Kristine Kathryn Rusch, is free on this website for one week only.
